Third 12 pack in 3 years
1 of 1 found this helpful I re-up with this 12 pack about once per year, my experience with these VF seconds is that they are either just as good, or occasionally one will break right away due to some imperfection in the wood. My process is to use them for one practice and if they survive that then I'll trust them for shows just as I would a factory vetted pair off VFs. In a pack of a dozen pair I'll only lose about 1-3 sticks (or on average, one pair) to imperfections which are very acceptable losses for how much money I save over regular VF sticks.

Lightweight yes... too light
0 of 1 found this helpful The mic sounds perfectly fine and looks decent, but I can't get over how light it feels with the plastic body. It looks and operates like a CAD12 but really feels like a toy in the hand. The build quality seems just fine for how inexpensive this mic is, which is what I expect from peavey.
I suppose it doesn't make much difference mounted in a stand but in a hand-held situation it hardly feels like holding a real mic.
Perhaps you have a weak gooseneck, or boom, or you just want to be able to extend your boom really far without it sagging or toppling over. In that case this mic could be just what you're after. It's really light. Or perhaps you're doing something specialized like touring by motorcycle and every ounce counts. For this price its worth a shot.

Decent on bass
1 of 1 found this helpful This was a gamble as it says it's for guitar but we wanted a gated fuzz for bass, without spending 100-200 bucks. Lots of fuzz and distortion pedals have a high pass filter that cuts the deeper lows in attempt to prevent distorted guitar from sounding "muddy". Well maybe because it's cheap but this eleca crush fuzz doesn't seem to have that. We were pleased it didn't neuter the low end and is giving us more-or-less the sound we were looking for. It's very light weight but the button and knobs feel solid enough. The sound is probably not for everyone but we lucked out in that this happened to be just what we were after.
