Capable Little Camera
2 of 2 found this helpful I have used the Nikon D7100 for a while that's usually paired with the Nikkor 80-400mm for photographing birds and I've really loved it. I wanted something smaller though that I could throw in a purse and carry a little more easily for day-to-day use, so I picked up the D5500 at a good price on ebay. So far I've really enjoyed it. It lacks a few features and conveniences of the D7100, but its image quality is on par - if not a little better in low light. I had a D5200 years ago and I feel like the D5500 has come a long way. Maybe I hadn't taken the time to learn the D5200 but I find the D5500 a little more intuitive and I find that settings are more easily accessed. Overall this a great little camera and I'm happy with this purchase.
