Poor quality makita
1 of 2 found this helpful Having used a wide range of Makita tools for a number of years without any probs whatsoever... I decided to replace my cheapo worn out grinder bought from aldi a few years ago with this Makita...but after less than ten mind of use the motor burned out
To the credit of the company I bought it from... Toolstop... They had it repaired free of charge by a local Makita repair specialist immediately...so I would certainly buy from them again...not sure I will buy Makita again though...will have to see how it performs after the repair......

Useless Ash pan
2 of 4 found this helpful The fire does give out a lot of heat and warms our li I g room nicely... But I wouldn't recommend burning hardwood logs.. Unless you can get them very cheap.. I'm using Blaze... a smokeless fuel that is very economical and gives very good heat....the problem with this fire is the ashpan... It misses a lot of Ash..its such a poor fit under the grate... So much so you need to take out the ashpan and try to clean up the Ash around it with something like a small paintbrush... But.. If you don't mind that then you will be happy with the fire
