I own over 80 different fragrances, designer and niche. I’m on my 40s, average guy, I dress formally during the day and casual/sport in the evenings and weekends. I’m not a fragrance expert but I had a chance to wear many of them. These are my thoughts on this fragrance.
Y Live is a fresh fragrance, it opens fruity, citrus, great wow factor, very appealing, with great projection and longevity. This fragrance falls within the fresh/citrus range, it makes you feel of a sunny day. The dry down is great as well, long-lasting and maintains those fresh citrus accents.

Projection: 8/10
Longevity: 8/10
Ideal for: Casual, sports.
Recommendation: Very unique, great projection and longevity. A must buy.
Better alternatives: I don’t know of any better alternatives in this category. But other good fragrances for casual and sports use are Acqua di Gio Profumo, Creed Aventus.

A fantastic, very sweet, praline, rose, and fine mossy fragrance
Montale Sensual Instinct EDP opens with a strong projection of very sweet, milk-chocolate, and floral notes. The opening is intense, projecting, delectable, fresh, elegant, gourmand, and very pleasant. The praline and rose are the most noticeable accords; the praline is a sweet, dense, milk-chocolate-dessert-like note, delicious, and inviting. The rose is also noticeable, this note is closer to the scent of pink roses as opposed to red or white that would be stronger and softer respectively. The rose note isn’t pungent but prominent. The oakmoss is behind the praline and rose, it is a mildly bitter and spice note, it works as sharpening and projecting accord, it intensifies the notes, making them crisp and bright. The oakmoss in this fragrance is very refined, it feels elegant and high-quality. The coffee beans are also a noticeable accord, this note seat behind the praline, roses, and oakmoss, its mission is to support and enhance the fragrance, but it isn’t prominent. The amber and cedar are the softest of all notes, just a whiff in the background, the amber adds a resinous sweet touch that makes the fragrance feel slightly denser. The fragrance is relatively linear, all featured notes come up once the fragrance is applied and continue into the dry down. Once Montale Sensual Instinct EDP has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a strong projection, very sweet, praline, rose, and mossy fragrance with coffee and ambery accords. The fragrance feels bold, casual, comforting, commanding, cozy, creamy, delectable, delicious, dense, elegant, energizing, exotic, more feminine than masculine, floral, fresh, heavy, high-quality, imposing, intense, intimate, invigorating, inviting, long-lasting, mature, slightly milky, modern, mildly bitter/mossy, nicely-blended, natural, resinous, refined, rich, seductive, very sweet, versatile, zesty and very pleasant.

VERSATILITY: 8/10. The fragrance is ideal for any occasion and any time of the year except summer.
GENDER: Unisex but leaned to the feminine side because of the rose note. The rose in this fragrance is evocative of pink roses, a floral accord, sweet but not as bold as the scent of red roses. The oakmoss and coffee beans notes, counterbalance its feminine nature making it more appealing to male wearers.
AGES: 25 and above.
RECOMMENDATION: Montale Sensual Instinct EDP can be found for about $100. Those that enjoy intense and projecting gourmand, rose and high-quality mossy fragrance, will find in this fragrance nothing less than fantastic. This is great to have.

The fragrance feels bold, casual, comforting, commanding, cozy, creamy, delectable, delicious, dense, elegant, energizing, exotic, more feminine than masculine, floral, fresh, heavy, high-quality, imposing, intense, intimate, invigorating, inviting, long-lasting, mature, slightly milky, modern, mildly bitter/mossy, nicely-blended, natural, resinous, refined, rich, seductive, very sweet, versatile, zesty and very pleasant.
