Quality kit. Worked for me.
I installed this AP in an outbuilding and it now provides backhaul for our wireless CCTV for our animals. It is connected to my Vodafone router and I have segregated it from my main network by setting the AP to use VLAN 10 on the Vodafone router (ie the wifi2 192.168.5.X range. All my other IoT and less trusted devices are on same subnet. I power it from a £30 5-port POE switch. Alternative you could buy a 5v power adapter or single POE injector. It is a quality product, aluminium casing and interchangeable antennas. You could fit special antennas to create a long distance wireless bridge. However it is at or close to end of life - I do not believe HP will provide any more software updates even for security fixes. The good news is that I signed up to HP support and it allowed me to update to latest 2017 firmware with no charge. For certain applications these APs may still have life in them.
