A Very Entertaining Spotlight on George Harrison
I've spent years collecting Beatles memorabilia. However I never truly understood certain things about George. This study of George's life includes many interviews he gave that explain many of his activities over the years. It gave me a new insight into his thought processes, and helped me form a much more complete picture of the man.
Many of George's loved ones relay anecdotes that show what a strong person he was despite some less-than-happy experiences. George, ex-wife Patti, and Eric Clapton tell their stories dealing with their relationships with each other. George and his wife Olivia both discuss the near-fatal attack George suffered when an intruder broke into their home. Son Dhani recites George's own words as narration in various segments. His voice sounds so much like George, it almost seems as if George himself is telling the story.
All in all, the general public should find it very entertaining, while I'm sure even hardcore fans will learn quite a few things about the quiet Beatle.

Good Ol' Freda is a Great Ol' Documentary!
As with all other documentaries of this kind, the use of footage from various sources makes the quality of the video and audio segments uneven throughout. However its overall quality appears to be as good or better than found in other Beatles documentaries. The entire production appears to be a labor of love from Freda herself down through the direction and overall production---and it shows. It's one of the best Beatles documentaries I've watched in my nearly 60 years of being a fan. I recommend it to all Beatle people. I only wished I'd seen it, when it had first come out.

Tom Thumb is big on FUN!!!
The picture and sound for this DVD by Warner Archive was outstanding. It's aspect ratio is 1.85:1, so there is very little letterboxing on 16x9 (1.77:1) TVs.
George Pal's production included Puppetoon and cartoon segments that are very entertaining. The plot is very simple, so children will love it and will probably want to watch it many times. Adults will appreciate the imaginative effects, but I doubt they'll want sit through many repeat viewings. I do recommend the movie to anybody who likes fantasy films. It may not be a classic, but it does have a few classic moments to enjoy.
