100% effective ear-plugs at a good price
13 of 16 found this helpful This type of earplug is the most effective I've found so far. They are a kind of soft silicon putty that you gently squeeze into your ear using your thumb. It takes a couple of minutes to work the putty until it completely fills the area above the ear-hole. When you've done this properly you really can't hear anything except the sounds going on inside your head! Having said this they can be TOO effective - you will struggle to hear the alarm-clock in the morning and may need the help of someone giving you a nudge to wake-up. Also, be aware of the possible danger of not hearing a smoke-alarm unless it is quite close.
Because the putty squeezes into the ear, it doesn't stick out at all like most other plugs so it is unlikely to fall out. Ideal for dealing with snoring partners, nightingales and the dawn chorus, traffic sounds, night-shift working. The putty always stays in one piece so you won't end up with bits falling in your ear. The putty can be re-used just by washing it, but after about 10 uses then you will probably want to change to a fresh pair, which is why they come in packs.

The perfect start to the lawn growing season
Evergreen Complete 4 in 1 always does a good job of recovering the lawn to best condition after the winter. Large leaf weeds are gone within a matter of days, and after a few weeks the grass is growing a rich deep green colour. If I have any criticism at all it is that they made the product a darker colour which makes it a bit more difficult to see where you have dosed the lawn already.

Great little streaming device and very versatile
I used to be a big fan of the Chromecast streaming stick but the Roku has recently overtaken it in my affections. The reason for this is that it has a great app that works with Android smartphones that allow you to stream media from the phone, stream YouTube video direct from the phone, stream music and photos all right from your phone. The Roku also works really well with Windows 10 - much better than the Chromecast does. Of course the Roku always had it's own remote which means you can access Google Movies, Amazon Prime, iPlayer, YouTube without the aid of any other device - but it does tend to be a bit slow if you do things that way.
Fundamentally this is an all-singing all dancing streaming device. Because it isn't tied to Google (like the Chromecast) or to Amazon (like the Fire stick) or to Apple (like Apple TV) it is supported by everybody. It has a huge range of TV channels you can connect to as well - useful if your other-half needs to connect to TV in exotic places.
If I have one small criticism it is this - why don't Roku do an "All-in-one" remote that can control both your Panasonic Viera and the Roku device? Annoying, but none of the other streaming stick vendors do any better so what can you do?
