GU Flask
The GU Energy Flask is a great way to cut down on waste. I run on trails in a local state park. I simply fill the flask with the amount of GU that I'll need for my long run and wash it when I get home (or save what remains for my next run). The flask gives me the added benefit of not having to save my empty, sticky single-serve packets until I get to a trash can. The flask is also more convenient than single-serve packets on road and mountain bike rides-relatively easy to open and no trash to store. I have to say that the twist knob on my two flasks are a bit stiff to open and close, but I've only used them three times so far and I'm guessing that they will become easier to open after a few more uses.
