A nice little summary of the enitre campaign leading up to Tsushima

If you are looking for a short round up of the naval campaigns during the Russo-Japanese War this book is an excellent start. It fills in the gaps far better than just reading the Wikipedia articles on the battles (no offense to Wikipedia meant) and the battle maps give decent details on the ship maneuvers. Yes there are books that go in greater detail but this one covers the main bases quite well.

If you need to learn the language this is your book

I've always trusted SAMS when I had to brush up on a language or come up to speed quickly. This one doesn't disappoint plus you get the practice software (Fujitsu COBOL which runs fine under Windows XP using the emulator under Windows 7 Pro). Yes, you have to step back a bit but I suspect the book would still work with Open COBOL under Windows 10. Your mileage may vary...
