Well made ceiling fixture flexible enough for wall mounting
Frankly I was surprised by the high quality solid metalwork & finish on this light. I hung it in our entrace foyer replacing a really UGLY old fixture. The house wiring was in the side of an exposed ceiling beam but the chain-hanging fixture easily adapts to a variety of positions. I mounted it to the ceiling in a standard swag lamp hook & draped the chain over to the actual wiring box which I covered with the simple but decorative box cover that comes with the fixture. So it provides much more flexibility than a simple fixed position ceiling fixture. Wife LOVES it. So do I.

Very strong.
This hook is rated for 450lbs because of the metal plate & screws that reduce the vibration strain on the screw threads. I've tested it w 420lbs & it holds just fine.
