A sturdy, compact and reliable storage device

I bought this unit because I've done well with smaller Transcend storage devices and wanted to stick with a brand I knew. Seems to be an excellent product so far. It is sturdily built, reasonably fast (especially for a USB 2.0 unit), and so far has uploaded, downloaded and deleted 100% reliably. The double USB 2.0 plug is a nice feature. A little more expensive than some of the competition, but worth it for the peace of mind. Plus it's made in Taiwan, not China!

Nice heavy duty external drive

I need reliable regular backups. I bought an earlier version (USB 2.0) of the same Transcend drive a few years ago and have used it for backups from PCs. I am using this newly purchased drive (USB 3.0) for backups from my Mac. Once formatted for Mac, it can also be used to retrieve data from a PC, and vice versa, just as I use my older Transcend drive to retrieve materials previously backed up from a PC, onto my Mac. Very versatile, no surprises here. I like the heavy-duty casing which doesn't feel as fragile as the plastic used on many drives.

Still a good hobby paint after all these years.

Gives a deep red finish over a dark silver gray base. Very nice. Easy to apply.
