Armytek Wizard Pro XHP50 2150 Lumen Headlamp, Magnet USB Charger, 18650 Battery

Excellent design. Ideal for construction industry or night hiking.

Benefits of the Armytek are essentially the lack of shortfalls in the Led Lenser H14.2. (Failure of battery pack lead connectors – eliminated by the Armytek design.) I use the Armytek for telecoms cabling installation and for night hiking in bush. Typical hike is 3.5 hours. Key features: 1 click button off and on, retains settings, constant lamp output. Can easily set very dim or very bright with double or triple clicks 1 x 18650 battery lasts a 3.5 hour hike (same illumination as previous Led Lenser H14.2 with 2 x 18650s). Lens diffuser has nil moving parts but similar even spread as Led Lenser. So with only 1 x battery it’s light enough to be entirely self-contained as a headlamp. (Eliminates remote battery wires - which failed on previous Led Lenser lamps. Headlamp is light enough to not need top strap. Even when running at night. Can easily pull off headlamp mount and hold as hand torch and return to headlamp mount. Has a twist safety lock – so lamp cannot be switched on with movement in pocket or toolkit. (Led Lensers travel lock is not shock resistant – jolting can reset the travel lock allowing lamp to switch on – fire hazard as well as lost charge.) Armytek USB magnetic charger is very convenient. Immersion proof. So can work in driving rain. (My Led Lenser failed in heavy rain doing emergency storm work because the battery back is only splash resistant.) Only negative is the Led Lenser H14.2 could use regular AA batteries as well as 18650's. Hasn't been a problem because I have plenty of spare 18650s.

Scupper vent on aluminium ute toolbox canopy

I used this scupper vent as a roof top vent for my aluminium ute toolbox canopy. 1 is forward facing, as an air scoop to generate positive air pressure in case I'm travelling on dusty roads. Other is rear facing as a hot air vent for when parked on hot days. Tool box is partly insulated, but can still get warm inside - not good for test instruments etc. Idea being that I leave the rear open all the time. With less chance of rain getting in if I forget to close and then driving. They seem to work well. Keeps the roof space relatively flat. Didn't want to install a conventional rain-proof rotary roof vent because we sometimes carry bulky stuff strapped on the canopy roof.
