My old air conditioner remote control had dead pushbuttons, rendering the AC unusable, there were not any front panel controls. The remote control was not available anywhere.
The remote was disassembled and each of the contact locations on the molded, flexible silicon switch pad were painted w/ the wire glue, per the instructions. I used a paper match as a paintbrush.
Now the remote control works great!
This product works well, as-advertised.

Solid Charger - Minor Miss on Assy Hardware - Minor Miss on Voltage Pointer
Please add my voice to the cacophony about the impossible assembly w/ the parts in the box. I needed two different taps to make threads to complete assembly. The manufacturer should grab a carton from finished goods, open the box and follow the printed instructions. Good luck. The instructions are wrong and the thread cutting screws are impossible w/ the too-small holes. This is NOT the correct first experience to impact the new consumer.
Also on mine the fan didn't work because the "skinny" black wire was jammed into the fan blades. I corrected the problem by winding those "skinny" black wires around the "fat" red wires attached to the transformer. The fan works fine now.
The exterior paint job is excellent. The interior paint is excellent on the top, sides and front, but absent on the rear and bottom. Mine already had surface rust spots on the interior, so I painted the interior of those two panels w/ Rustoleum. My prior charger served me well for over 40 years before giving up the ghost and I hope to have this one last that long for me too, so I want to avoid unnecessary rust.
I wasn't thrilled w/ using the handle for winding the cables, so I added rear panel supports for the cables.
For my usage the red / yellow / green analog voltage pointer was useless. When I used the charger I also had to setup and connect my digital volt meter to properly monitor the charger.
My plan was to toss that analog voltage pointer and replace it w/ a digital voltage panel meter. I was unable to locate a meter that fit the existing cutout.
The digital voltage panel meter I purchased was a Yeeco 1400198 three digit 3.6 VDC to 50 VDC w/ 0.1 VDC resolution. This is reasonably priced on eBay. The easy-to-follow instructions permit performing a two-point calibration, at 5 VDC and 12 VDC. After the calibration I was VERY satisfied w/ the measurement accuracy over the expected operation range when compared to my high-end Fluke multimeter.
The dimensions of this Yeeco panel meter are smaller than the front-panel cutout on the charger. When I removed the existing analog meter I discovered that I could pop-out the guts and "jam in" the Yeeco panel meter. The Yeeco needed to be modified by removing the perimeter lip, used in a typical installation to grab onto the panel. Once the lip was removed it fit great. RTV adhesive was used around the perimeter to secure the digital meter to the interior of the original analog meter.
Now the charger utility is MUCH better suited to my usage.

Compressor Review
This is a new exact drop-in replacement that is identical to the OEM compressor. Follow the FSM. Dump out and measure the oil in the compressor. Mine had almost enough for the entire system. The side cover plate was not used. I used the one from my retired compressor.
