It's OK
I purchased this game because I ride a Harley-Davidson. I've owned my current bike for 21 years. I like the company and like Harley-Davidson products. I've always wanted to tour the USA on my H-D but don't ever expect to have the funds. I thought the game would show me some of the best riding routes in the USA. Also I like bike/racing games. I'd just bought a second hand PS2 on ebay and needed a game to play on it and when I did a search this was one of the games that presented on Ebay. I thought it'd be a good game (second hand) to add to my collection of H-D things as well as entertainment.
Too bad for me the game was from the USA and was NTSC format. It arrived quickly and well packed the cover even had a place for a memory card. But it wouldn't play on my PAL formatted PS2. Lesson Learned. Why governments persist in this type of censorship is beyond my understanding a universal format would ease the load on everyone!
So I looked for a PAL version and found another second hand one in Queensland up the road from where I live a few hundred miles away. It arrived quickly as well but Censorship takes it's toll in many forms the cover was blue plastic not black like the USA one there was no memory card slot the quality of the printed cover was alot less vivid than the USA cover. SO I swapped the covers.
The game started OK. Trouble was I couldn't set up the controller the way I wanted and had to accept the fixed controller set up the game came with. I couldn't select any type of bike but I had to win bikes and modifications by winning races. I only had three characters to choose from and was stuck with their names. The game is similar to Road Rash (PC game ) I like but no chains, baseball bats etc. to hit other racers with. You can kick or knock down the other riders by crashing into them which is not as realistic. When you crash in a head on the effect on the rider and bike is realistic minus blood. You get extra credit for doing daring deeds like ramp jumping wheel stands or near misses. There's also a boost button that accelerates the bike about 3 times faster than normal. Not being able to set up the contoller makes it more difficult as I prefer to have the controls as similar as possible from one game to the next, makes game play easier.
The colors and graphics aren't too bad but your stuck to the track from what I can see. Traffic goes in both directions and there's toll gates to blast through and I can split lanes and ride on the wrong side of the road as I would on the real road.
I've only played it a couple of times as yet because I'm playing Gran Turismo 4 which was left in the PS2 I bought and was having fun setting up an FPR GT and a 2005 GT40 to destroy the competion. But it looks like a good game.
Cornering is left only to leaning which isn't the way I ride. I use the handlebars similar to small degrees of opposite lock to toss the bike down for corners, Road Rash gives you lean and handlebar control which is more realistic because if you just leaned a bike you'd have a hard time getting around some corners especially when going fast. A small push forward on the left bar grip turns the bike left and leans it and vice a versa (emergency turning). But you still have throttle control so reducing speed in a corner can get me around.
Like I said I bought it because it had Harley Davidson on it also it was reduced to only a few dollars as it was used and for a PS2. Not a bad game for some fun.

The best game I played so far and will probably still be trying to finish
I don't have much money to spend so I've bought a couple of second hand PS2's never had one before and missed out when they came out because I was poor and still am. I bought this game second hand in the hope it would be a good shooter, as I liked the Terminator Movies, instead of zombies they've got cyborgs. It's better. I was surprised at the backgrounds artwork sound and play action for a PS2 game. It is very impressive. The game is linked to the movie and as you play it with cut scenes which I reckon should've been in the movie as it would make more sense and are action filled, fill out the story like a good book or a what really happened first person video report. The game play is really hard I didn't think I would ever get through the first level. I don't read instructions much. There's hand to hand fighting mixed with small arms, pulse lasers heavy weapons , steel poles , helicopter gun ships, tanks , trucks with mounted guns , semi fuel tankers to explode, hunter killers. The hand to hand moves are surprisingly realistic in effect and sticks to the concept of how the Terminator fights. There's a replay of the original movie with a new ending I haven't got to yet, with other scenes. Extra features are gradually released as I progress through the game. The sounds or explosions are realistically impressive. I'm only 25 percent through I've got to the TX level in 1990 where I'm chasing the big crane truck through the streets , concrete rivers in L.A. I though I'd never get through the desert driving section man is it hard you can't loose a second. You have to rely on your intuition to pick turns and precise control of the truck jumping from one cliff through gulleys and ramps. There is no map you have to find your way and in a very short time. The whole game is like that but you gradually get the idea there is always a parameter I must stay within to stop from being powered down, memory test. This game to me seems like I'll be at it for years trying to finish it. But I got the Harley and shot gun for now blowing away cop cars. The game gives the impression that the levels go on forever it's seems harder than Desert Storm II , Black and that was hell to finish on normal for me; ShellShock Nam 67, Call of Duty Final front. The graphics and artwork are much better I feel in some ways. There are no difficulty levels to select from. SO good luck trying to finish this on your own. I'm in wonder at what the next 4 chapters or so of levels hold. I reckon they should remake the movie using the story in this game or a series it would make the original movie make more sense as I thought as I watched the cut scenes through each level, Oh right that's what happened after that scene cut and why that happened.
