Canon G5x good camera...but
I have owned the Canon G5X for about a month now. It is a great camera and takes great shots. But it is heavier than I thought and due to the viewfinder sticking out a lot it is hard to find a decent reasonably sized pouch and doesn't easily fit in the pants or jacket pocket. The viewfinder which was the main reason I bought the G5X and not the G7x.
However my main complaint now is that after only a month the shutter cover has jammed. Obviously I must have damaged it when it was in my coat pocket on Friday night after I took some photos. I realise this is a simple fix and affects most digital cameras, but it is under warranty, so a bit of a hassle getting it fixed properly.
Surely a camera designed to be put in your pocket or a handbag should have a decent lens protection system. It the lens cover is that fragile, then they should provide an old fashioned lens cap or make the cover more robust. Very annoying and for a camera with a RRP of nearly $1k this is not good enough.
