Intended for assist mode in my applications.
Ran smoothly out of the package, with fairly good slow speed action. Does not have much pulling power as would be expected considering it"s size and weight. Did not try to add weight yet, but am sure that will improve traction effort. All in all am fairly satisfied with results, and will more than likely be buying several more as I can find uses for them ( like small assist units, etc. in steam tenders or boxcars. ) - Paul S.

Big Dissapointment here!
Have used many Vermont American products in the past. Although not of the highest quality standards, they seemed to do the job reasonably well, but this product did not perform well at all. In my opinion is made of low quality steel, and even have concerns it was made in USA. Out of the package dulled in seconds, and would only smoke, and burn hole in wood slowly.It may cut softer woods like pine or balsa, but that's about it, nothing in the way of furniture grade wood, and that's where you may be wanting to cut dowels or plugs. - Paul S,, Cedar Glen, Ca.

Great for your tractor!
Looks to be a good quality item for your tractor. Comes in assorted colors to choose from, and was very easy to install, with the choice of two different adapters for thinner of thicker steering wheels. Has a large knob that is easy to grip, and the coating seems to add to the gripping capability. Think it will work out just fine to assist steering!
