Simple, sturdy & reliable
12 of 12 found this helpful This camera is a tank. I had one for ten years, and the only thing that stopped it was a dip in the ocean (oops!) Salt water scrambled the electronics. I recently bought another one, because the 3000i does something that none of the more advanced Maxxums will do: it accepts manual-focus lenses. I have a 500mm mirror telephoto with a T-mount adapter that I had not been able to use since my first 3000i went swimming. The 3xi and other, newer Maxxums will not open the shutter with a manual-focus lens, but the 3000i will.
