I’ve used Shimano, Sram, Huret, and Simplex(back in the seventies), but Campagnolo was and is the gold standard. Everything they make is a notch above, even something as unsophisticated as a chain. If you have to ask why, you’ve never used it.

Zipp stem

I bought a Colnago C-59 with a 120mm stem, and a short steering tube. This has allowed me to ride in a position a bit more relaxed as I'm older and have some back and neck issues. I now am stationary on saddle and do not have an over extended reach. The product itself is first rate(Zipp, say no more), and looks great; bells ring birds sing
