Exactly HOW DO YOU USE IT?

The best I can tell?? I can't find the proper and detailed INSTRUCTIONS. It's a given how to hook up the product to a battery, but that is about all that is in the directions that came with it. There needs to be "Instructions For Dummies" so to speak. Example...... do you use while vehicle is in use? Do you use it with the battery cables disconnected, or connected? How long do you leave it connected......Hours? Days? Weeks? for ever?
