    Seagate Barracuda hard drives
If you search around eBay for SATA or IDE hard drives, you will find many different brands, sizes and speeds. We will take a look at each of these attributes and see what fits you and why I choose Seagate (almost every time). There are many brands out there including Seagate/Maxtor (yes Seagate owns Maxtor), Western Digital, Hitachi, Toshiba, IBM and even no name models known as "white label." With Seagate if bought new retail packaging, includes a 5 year warranty that is all inclusive. Most other brands offer only 1-3 years. Seagates tend to be more reliable than others. While I use a Western Digital Blue Scorpion 500 GB in my Macbook Pro, I would not have used a standard model from WD and my desktop (Powermac G5) uses 2 Seagate drives. The desktop has run for 2+ years with no issues. Next is the speed rating of these drives. The one I purchased for a client of mine is a 7200 rpm. There are 5400, 7200 and 10,000 rpm varieties. Rule of thumb here is the higher the rpm the faster apps, OSes and other programs will load. This is certainly true. I recommend a 10k rpm but they tend to be quite pricey. So a 7200 is an excellent alternative. Now on the size. I purchased the 80 GB for my client as an OEM replacement. I took out an 80 GB and replaced with the same. But how much does one need? Take a look at how much hdd space is being utilized now in your computer. Do you plan on adding more photos, videos, music and apps? Do you just surf the net, email and IM? Well, if you are using more than 50% of your drive, you may need to upgrade. A rule I follow is the hdd should be over twice the size of files stored. If you are using 50 GB now on an 80 GB drive, then go to a 120 GB hdd or even better, a 160 GB. This will allow more free space for the operating system to perform tasks, updates and maintenance. Also if you have to use recovery tools to fix a drive, it will need the extra space to rewrite the data to from bad blocks and sectors. Over do the size and the free space can go bad before being used. Overall, I enjoy the reliability and speed of Seagate drives compared to others. WD drives seem to fail too easily and Hitachi and IBM Deskstar can be a pain to get to load XP on to. I rely on Seagates for computers, client's computers and game consoles. And while there are great deals on eBay for various hard drives, remember that cheaper is not always better. Buy new whenever possible as well. There are great deals here on those too.

Associated 9626 Reedy Radon 17t 540 Brushed Motor

    Great inexpensive brushed motor
For value vs performance, you will be hard pressed to find much better. While you cannot rebuild it, you can replace the brushes. With the right gearing it will fly. Now, it is the only brushed motor I buy until I am able to go brushless.
