Excellent!
This line casts very well and is relatively quiet for a textured line (I have a textured Orvis line that seems louder). It floats well and picks up off the water easily. I love the taper and the true-to-size weight and it casts beautifully on my medium action 3 weight, replacing GPX line that was overpowering the rod somewhat. Overall, I think it’s excellent for my needs!

Straight-Forward Replacement
My Abu Garcia 4600C3 is about 15-20 years old and one of my brake blocks cracked. I ordered these items and they dropped-right in. Easy purchase - great item!

Just Peachy - A Great Classic Taper!
I bought this line in a 6 weight to use with a 7 1/2 foot fiberglass rod that has a fairly slow action (E-Glass) rated as a 5/6. I originally tried a modern 5 weight floating line that is 1/2 size heavier (SA GPX) on the rod because it was all that I had. While the 5 weight line worked ok, it seemed like the rod was struggling with it a bit - overpowering it somehow. The Cortland line's true-to-size line weight and the more traditional taper has brought my fly rod to life. The line casts wonderfully - very smooth. I've fished trout flies and small streamers and it handles them well. If it is windy (12 MPH or more, basically), the streamers don't toss quite as well even with a double-haul. I mostly fish for bream and small bass and the line is just great for this purpose. The line is a nice color, very supple, floats very well, and lays down nice and delicate. I'm very pleased.
