Samsung SCH-U740 compared to the SCH-U900
Why you bought it
My wife & I had identical Samsung SCH-U900, purchased from Verizon for their good cameras, email capabilities and Verizon's coverage here. We also wanted flip-phones, because of the physical abuse I give to things in my pockets.
My wife wore out the connection through her swivel-hinge on the SCH-U900 from switching between camera & phone too much, and we were two months from the end of our Verizon contract, so Verizon gave us the options of paying full retail for a replacement phone, or signing up for another two-year contract. Neither of those options worked for us.
So, I bought my wife a new 12MP point-and-shoot camera, and went looking for a Verizon-compatible phone with email capabilities and some kind of camera for photo-texts.
What you like most about it
I loved the SCH-U740's QWERTY keyboard, and everything else looked good, so I nabbed it used from a very good eBay seller at a reasonable price. Operationally, it's even slicker to me than the SCH-U900.
What you dislike about it
Neither phone
The camera isn't anywhere near as good as the one in the SCH-U900. But, I liked my wife's new point-and-shoot camera so well that she got me one for Christmas, so I wish it was easy to trade phones with her while keeping our telephone numbers, because although the SCH-U900 takes better pictures, its image-capture speed is LAME, and the LED 'flash' is almost useless. Plus, my wife doesn't appreciate the QWERTY keyboard, and still texts using the multi-purpose numeric keys.
Whether or not you would buy the product again
I love how compact and easy-to-use the SCH-U740 is. The camera is usable within its limitations. It has Verizon's coverage, but it also has their corporate attitude. If we were staying with Verizon, I would get the phone. But phones with SIM cards are MUCH more attractive to me.

Works Great
Very happy with the tool and how it takes the same battery that my B&D 20V string trimmer uses. My next purchase will be the matching leaf blower.

Good product value from a great store.
