US WWI/WWII "Doughboy/Brodie style helmet.
For the money, this item Is certainly well worth the purchase price.
Shortcomings? Why yes, glad you asked.
The leather chin strap while nicely made is put together with poor quality metal rivets. The interior of the helmet is a departure from the real deal. The "oil cloth" is in fact, a heavy grade plastic material that reeks of a chemical smell. The adjustable head band will not acccomodate a large head. Several pieces of cut rubber tubing act as a barrier between the head and the actual steel helmet.
Any thing really positive? Yes! The helmet has a bit of heft. The external steel helmet is well made.
If you are an "early period" WWII re-enactor, be advised that a "period correct" helmet would feature a canvas chin strap. The Brodie helmet and the Brodie style helmet both feature canvas chin straps. The British helmet has a different interior head adjustment system and utilizes a different type of canvas chin strap than its American Army/USMC counterpart.
In conclusion, my grandson now has the helmet.

Sky Ships
While the world was creating an infrastructure to accommodate the "ocean liners of the sky", design deficiencies, unpredictable weather conditions, and unrealistic expections all served to doom these marvels of yesteryear.
The mooring mast at the top of the Empire State Building was constructed to accommodate passengers disembarking from an airship hovering 1,000 feet above the streets of Manhattan-only once was the mooring mast used-a bundle of newspapers were "dropped off" by a semi rigid air ship.
The navy initially had plans to use these rigid airships as airborne aircraft carriers!
The dimensions of the Lakehurst NJ facility stand as a somber reminder of an overly optimistic view of an airship program that failed to meet the expectations of the proponents of the rigid airship.
This book is an informative gem. Excellent photographs and informative writing. A rather strange blending of "steam punk" greets the future.
This book is not confined to the fab four that plied the unpredictable sky. A great deal of attention is given to the more practical "Blimps". Rather short and stubby when contrasted with their more elegant "cousins", the "Blimps" staffed by Navel personnel, acted as airborne observation platforms. During and following World War II.
A great read! My hat's off to William F. Althoff.

Great Brit flick by george Harrisons film company "Handmade Films". The story line is unusual.
Great Brit flick about a middle aged dad who has his son kidnapped by a couple of gangsters.
The father is a computer programmer. The gangsters make the father a deal he can't refuse. The
dad agrees to provide computer gleaned information that the gangsters want. In exchange, the son and his dad will be reunited.
With no intention of disclosing the details, the story has various twists and turns. In the end, justice does prevail-the father and son are reunited.
Sound boring? Guess again. Never anger a dedicated dad. In the last ten minutes, the film really comes to life!
This film is a product of George Harrisons HAND MADE film company.
For years, this film has been available in England and Australia. Now it's available in the US.
