Works most of the time
1 of 1 found this helpful Previously I had the 9550. It lasted only 10 or so months before it started leaking which destroyed the drive unit. I had the drive unit replaced under warranty. This procedure took 3 weeks at my local Leslies Pool Supply during which time I manually cleaned the pool after spending 1400.00 on a product that should not have failed the way it did. After another year or so, the drive unit leaked again rendering the 9550 completely useless.
The newly released version of the 9450 seems almost identical to the 9550, except some of the programming is different. I think this may be why the 9450 gets stuck sometimes where it should not. It will get stuck at a 45 degree angle with absolutely no obstructions and just sit there indefinitely until I have to intervene and free it to continue the cycle. I gently move it with the pool brush to prod it along. Other than that, it does a pretty good job cleaning. It just requires a little bit of extra baby sitting than it should.
