Display cuts out

I use the speedometer on a golf cart. While I like the product features, the display goes blank and has to be completely setup anew. It appears that the battery contacts are the problem since I experienced the same difficulty with a previous unit and I observe the contact has been changed to a spring on the newer unit. The manufacturer or importer has a Florida address but cannot be contacted for help.
