Good features and playback with a few quircks.
This Blu-Ray player is a good deal if you are on a budget. With DVD Upscaling, BD-Live capabilities, and a easy to use menu system, it's a great player for anyone starting out or on a tight budget. The picture out of HDMI is crisp and clean, with few distortions that I could probably attribute to my LCD TV and not the player. Audio, for what I can test on, is also very clean. This player is QUIET, despite having a cooling fan in the back. It does have a few minor quirks, and lacks some features I'd like to see, however. The main thing is that it can be a bit slow to load discs and go through the menus on the titles. Also, despite having BD-Live capabilities, Sony didn't include memory to store it on, thus requiring you to use a USB stick or external hard drive to store extra features on. The only other thing I would like to see on this player is Netflix/Streaming videos. It has the network port on the back, but it cannot stream videos over the internet. Overall, a quality player from a great company.
