One of our greatest poets
Sharon Olds' poetry is some of the most intense literature I know. She is technically accomplished and extremely expressive. She deals with the most challenging emotional material in our lives, in a completely convincing and satisfying matter. Not easy reading, but deeply satisfying.

Ella on 78s
This is an excellent, comprehensive collection of Ella Fitzgerald's 78s from the 1930s and '40s. The sound quality is quite good. The material, of course, is wonderful. It's lovely having 196 tracks of Ella at this very low price in such a compact passage. But it would have been lovelier if we had any documentation except the bare titles of the songs and the composers' and lyricists' names. There isn't a word about recording dates or personnel.
