A good special detail part
This item is four pieces, two light housings and two cover plates. They are cast in soft metal with acceptable detail. The front housing differs from the rear. The front covers the stock headlight, mounting on top of the hood. The rear headlight is to go on the cab roof, centered over the door. No clear lens are included, although Detail Associates models are specified by number. The housing is not bored to accept a bulb or LED on the locomotive front. Instructions are included.
S.P. used these lights during the “golden age”—1950’s through 1960’s. Both orange tiger stripes and grey/red eras would be appropriate. The old Baldwin switchers later were used in Oregon yards.

A good looking car that you have built yourself.
The kit was complete, all parts apparently accounted for. The metal castings of these kits need cleaning up of flash. Use small hobby files. The roof is raw wood. Use fine sandpaper and prime before painting. You need a #76 drill in a pin vise (hand drill) for the grab irons. Trucks are included; needs your favorite couplers. Roof walk is real wood, authentic. I like this line of MofW cars. This one was painted boxcar red, lettered in white. Lettering quality reflects the era of the kit. Not so sharp, but acceptable. Real wood scribed sides—so easy to rough up with an Xacto blade to show age.

A great realistic detail
This window set fits the Athearn International Car Mfg. cupola caboose. The car has five body windows on one side, and four on the other. The windows are attached as one unit per side, including cupola, by a clear plastic sprue. Thus they are spaced correctly when installed from inside the body. That’s a great labor saver.
