Worked great outdoors in full Hawaiian sun with the detector
1 of 1 found this helpful Great level that is easy to use and worked well in laying out a residential agricultural building site. We used the level with the recommended detector, set the level in pulse mode (1 button). We took shots that were around 100 feet from the level and the detector picked them up easily. We were in full sun in Hawaii. We did shade the detector on long shots that were facing into the sun - I think this helped. It was very fast to get the shots. The laser needs to hit the small window that's only about an inch high, but it's pretty easy even when we clamped the detector to our stadia rod. We raised the detector on the rod way high into the air until the unit beeped - very quick to find our elevations. Unit looks well built and comes with a nice padded case.
