Just what you reasonably expect in a lens cap.
These do not last forever and a spring in the cap that came with my Sony lens broke. These caps seem nearly identical to the one they replace - except for missing the SONY emblem.

Holds Charge
Maybe there is a cheap third-party battery that holds its charge for as long as the Sony batteries do, but I've not found one.

Need more time with the lens
I've only had this lens for a short time but overall I am happy with it. The only odd thing I've found about it is that the focus ring and the zoom ring are reversed from where Sony puts them and where I have found them on Sigma and even other Tamron lenses. It takes a little time to get accustomed to that change. Also, focus seems a bit slow at times.
