I have 3 Flood Light Security Cameras around the house and the doorbell

No monthly subscription. You can set it for constant record, or just motion specific. You can adjust sensitivity to motion in 3 different directions, brightness settings. Many different settings all with no monthly ball and chain bill. I have had zero problems technically. You have to be persistant with initially setting up the unit on your wifi network. It can take several attempts to do so but once it's is, it links right back up with loss of power or wifi.
