This is a very poignant story of courage.
This movie is the enactment of a true story, written by the daughter of Molly Craig, the main character. It takes place in Western Australia, where the government has ruled that Aboriginal women may not keep their mixed-race children. Instead, the children are taken to an internment camp (Moore River Native Settlement), north of Perth.
Molly, 14, takes charge of her sister and cousin (ages 10 & 8), and immediately plans to escape from the camp to return to their home, Jigalong. A skilled Aboriginal tracker has been hired to catch them, but they elude him, hiding, and disguising their tracks, sometimes even walking backwards.
Molly sees an unending rabbit-proof fence and remembers being told that it spans the continent, so she knows it will lead them back to Jigalong. Molly is brave and encouraging. However, her cousin Gracie is deceived by information that has been falsely spread, and tries to hop a train to reach Wiluna, where she expects her mother to have relocated. Gracie is recaptured, and Mollie and her sister Daisy have to continue without her. For nine weeks and 1500 miles, the sisters follow the fence. They successfully reach Jigalong and are reunited with their mother.
The epilogue features the real Molly and Daisy as old women. This is a very poignant story of courage, and I recommend it.

Cute little owl
He looks a little prickly, but he's actually very soft. He's exactly what I wanted, and I'm pleased with the smallish size, as well as the quality. I've been purchasing Gund toys for over half a century, and I've never been disappointed.

nice applique
This applique seems to be good quality. Nice, tight stitching and bright colors. I'm pleased with my purchase.
