impressive sound from such a small package
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this combo to cut down on size and weight, and I was just hoping it would produce a satisfactory 'on-stage' sound. Going from my previous combo ( 64 lbs, ) to this one ( 18 lbs ) was quite a difference in weight and size, so I fully expected to be sacrificing sound ( or at least volume ). But it sounds GREAT, better than my other combo which I was previously very satisfied with- great tone, good low end and plenty of volume for my needs ( acoustic duo that usually runs everything through mains for larger venues). I have actually used it without going through the mains at a small outside event and it was still powerful enough to be heard well, without even pushing it's capabilities. Not quite enough power to use with a full rock band in a larger venue unless you go through the mains, but that's what the direct out is for.

Works fine, with remote I already owned.
I was looking for a DVD recorder that was compatible with the remotes I already had. This one is, so it's exactly what I needed. No problems so far with functionality.

Does the job, with the typical limitations
This device works really well...the only issue is the same issue you often get when you buy older DVD recorders...there are some basic cable networks ( on DISH, presumably also on other satellite providers ) that it won't record. When you try you get a 'copyright protected' message. Probably does the same thing on the premium channels- I don't know since I don't get those anyway, but in the past those have usually been the first ones to get the 'copyright protected' message. But that's not a flaw with the device itself, just don't expect everything to record..If you have a digital converter box for your antenna, it seems to record everything from those with no problems. But again, this is typical behavior, not a flaw in the device. I bought another one around the same time as this, another brand, has the same issues.
