Beautiful coasters

Bad design, sloppy fit in the jack, questionable safety
2 of 2 found this helpful My purchase came with a solid steel round bar intended to fit in the yoke of a trolley jack in place of the lifting cup.
Despite what others have said, the bar on my purchase is exactly 25mm diameter, which makes it a VERY sloppy fit in the yoke of most modern jacks [where 30mm seems to be the standard].
The bar, which is tapped in the bottom to take a safety bolt, is TOO SHORT to sit securely in the yoke of my Sealey, and the short safety bolt can only engage by a couple of threads. The penny washer on the safety bolt is just LESS THAN 30mm diameter, so it slips up inside the borehole of the yoke and negates the so-called safety feature entirely.
If the round bar had been better designed I could have fitted a tube sleeve on it, but in the circumstances it was easier to grind out the welds and fit a correctly-sized bar in its place
