Beautiful Classic Dress Warch - Great Value for Money!
The appearance of the Orient Star Classic watch is at a much more expensive level than the price was. It is simply a beautiful watch! Add to this, it is one of the view automatic watches that has an indicator on the face reflecting up to 50 hours of working life left before the spring depletes and the watch stops. So, you always know where you are at with regards to the energy level remaining in the spring.

Refined Elegance with a V-8 Under the Hood!
Simplistic elegance! The exterior is refined in that it only has one sub-dial and the appearance is clean and crisp, not busy like those with 3 sub-dials. Having said that, it can do most of what those with 3 sub-dials do, only through the placement of its hour, minute and second hands for a few seconds. You can wear this watch in a casual situation; or, with formal attire and it will fit in. Even though it is a blue dial, it is a fairly flat, dark blue that comes across as black from a distance. As a Satellite Wave watch, it will update time, date, time zone, etc. in 3 - 15 seconds, versus 30 seconds to a minute for an Atomic radio watch. A real beauty, but a workhorse as well.

Simplistic Elegance with a V-8 Under the Hood!
The Citizen CC3081-52E is a beautiful watch, in and out. While I usually prefer watches with a blue face, my sustained and focused view of both the black face, compared against the blue face ($100 more) model of this watch over the web led me to the conclusion that the black face with the white luminous hour and minute hands, as well as the red second hand and the minute white day of the week sub-half dial hand, would produce a crisper and cleaner appearance. I was right! This watch is a beauty in both a casual setting; as well as when worn in a formal setting. And the subdued, hard coated duratekt carbide coated case and bracelet (4 times harder than regular Titanium), combined with the 99% clarity coated anti-reflective sapphire crystal make for an exceptional pairing. Add to that, the mechanism is "chocker-block" full of capabilities, even though it only has one sub-dial, half reflecting the days of the week and the other half reflecting the degree of charged power. It updates time, date, etc. via GPS from the satellites on a scheduled basis; but a minimum of once every six days or sooner, if worn much outside. And when it is stored in darkness, the hands stop moving to save energy, but the mechanism keeps perfect time. Once you take it out into the light, the hands and date immediately readjust themselves to the correct time/perpetual calendar. Or, you can do so manually, only taking 3 to 30 seconds to do so. And the other two atomic watches I have, a Seiko Cultara SSG020 and the Citizen PCAT CB5908-57E that are on atomic time in the same time zone all show exactly the same time, within a second of this Citizen GPS CC3081-52E. Very neat to see the second hands turning at exactly the same location on each watch. But this new Satellite Wave watch is my favorite. An added plus is that this watch only weighs 3.6 ounces due to the high-tech Titanium band and case. I know with certainty because I weighed it myself on my wife's kitchen scale! The band also has a minimal adjust mechanism built into the clasp. Therefore, if it is not quite tight enough, but adding a link would make it too tight, the minimal adjust mechanism shores it up just right. I love the simplistic beauty of this watch, and the "V-8" under its proverbial hood. You will too!
