6' is good
I suggested to the company that they take a look at how far the "lightening" end of the cord
goes into the phone/product because when I am using this cord with a slight movement of the phone/product, the cord will slip out and charging will stop. I have to push hard to get the cord back in.
The company gave me the standard " we try hard" but I don't think they addressed the issue. There is probably nothing they can do because they are not the manufacturer of the product, but maybe they could have sent me a copy of what they sent to the manufacturer.
I like very much the extra length and if you just plug in your product and leave it alone the cord will be great. I think I can see the heavier cord being important to the longevity of the cord, but this makes it slightly awkward to handle.
