Launch angle went from 22° to 29°, huge!

Love the look and feel at address. Larger head from previous mizunos. Clubs on par with new Pings but have better control, feel.

Titleist for average players?
2 of 2 found this helpful Typically get bored with drivers after 3 years. I still feel the driver is the hardest club to hit in the bag. Any error is compounded with the added length. Nervous on buying a Titleist because the general golf population sees their drivers generally reserved for better players. I did some reading, golf reviews, pulled up internet reviews (not Titleist web-site) and spoke to a few golfers who are playing with the new odd shape heads. In my humble opinion, the D1 has the others beat by shape, design and set-up. A traditional look and it grows on you. It is solid black, classic look that feels great at address, giving me additional confidence. Sound is not your typical ping hollow sound from other 460 drivers, it sounds like broken glass when hit, very authoritative. I would recommend a good study of the shafts, make sure you have the right one, and the proper length. Anyone serious about improving their game cant go wrong with Titeist, this club certainly is designed for improving the average players game. And yes, you will hit it longer, more importantly, in bounds! My occasional snap hook is gone with this club. A bad slicer needs help with his swing not a new driver.
