An oldie, but a goodie!
4 of 4 found this helpful Loved my original P1 so much, I had to get a P2, and am happy I found it in this color! The item was exactly as described, and in working condition. Love the throwback of this little toy :) Just a little advice to anybody wanting to buy an original unopened, or even used, Tamagotchi:
1) DO NOT pull the tab right away, because it's best to check and change the batteries first!
2) This is necessary due to the age of the toy, and the high probability the original batteries will be leaking acid, and you do not want to pull the tab risking acid dripping onto the circuitry. This happened to me before, and in my experience, the acid usually drips along the metal parts of the battery terminal, but it's best to be safe that sorry. So, inspect the terminals first, and if necessary, DAB off the acid, and then remove the tab. If not, just replace them.
3) BE SURE to have a set of JIS screwdrivers (size 0), because a regular Philips will strip the screws, if you intend to change them yourself. You can also take it to any jeweler, and have them replace the batteries.
