Disappointing space heater
I found this heater difficult to start and especially soon after turning it off. Delays in starting can cause a large flame as the gas spreads out during the delay. The unit puts out very little heat from the ceramic element and you can comfortably hold your hand 6 inches away when on full. It burns very poorly when on the very low settings resulting in a marked output in noxious gases but this is not a problem used outdoors as proscribed. I tested the Low oxygen cutoff and came to the conclusion that it did not work on my unit at a reasonably safe level . A reasonable amount of heat is emitted from the top vents but you would have to sit very close, or over the top of this unit on a cold evening. It is well built and finished and the design is very stable , which is important as it does not have auto tilt switch off.
