poor re-design by D'Addario
D'Addario has replaced the Planet Waves NS capo with a newer model, not like the one pictured above. The older model was heavier and thicker and had a larger tuning wheel. I thought it was the best capo ever. By adjusting the tension on the wheel whenever you changed fret position, you could hear the guitar coming into tune with the capo tension adjustment. The newer model, while offering the same ability, is made lighter and thinner, not having as much substance. Also, the wheel is considerably smaller and just didn't feel as nice as the older model. In several of the newer model I tried, the wheel would grind while turning and also feel like it was catching or getting stuck. Hopefully, D"addario will go back to the older model.
