Perfect for my elderly father
1 of 1 found this helpful My father who is in his late 80's and who's mind is giving him trouble had issues dialing his traditional kitchen wall phone that has hung there since the late 1950's. Basically, he could not look at a number and then remember it to dial it on the wall. With this phone, he can look at the number and put the phone beside it on his table and dial the number without a mistake. Also with the receiver connection on the handset instead of on the wall, it makes it easier for him to make multiple calls. Its made cheaply compared to the old "trimline" phones and I think it may crack if its dropped but what ISNT made cheaply today? For my aging father, once he learned to use it instead of his traditional wall phone, its perfect.

Nice pan to have in the kitchen
This is a really nice little pan for melting butter on the stove, preparing sauces to put over things like fish, chicken, etc. and even warming some leftover gravy for a single serving meal. Its also big enough that you can heat a cup of juice or some other kind of drink. Although its not the Farberware quality of our parents generation, its still a decent quality and well worth the price. Its also dishwasher safe.

Period movie
3 of 3 found this helpful If you love stories about families and all they entail (death, teen angst, falling outs & reconciliations) and you are a fan of another period of time in America you will LOVE this movie. This is one of my favorites which takes place in the late 1800's. The story is told through the heroine, a teenage girl who wants to be a writer. I feel that the for the time period, the difference between the poor, the upper middle class and the wealthy are portrayed spot on. The setting is very typical for a New England farm in a small town of the time. Jacqueline Bisset gives an excellent performance as the wealthy grandmother trying to help her struggling daughter and grandchildren despite her daughters not forgiving and therefore accepting her at first. It is really an insight into how families were forced to live when the principle breadwinner dies during a time before the social programs the New Deal gave us. This is not only a good Thanksgiving movie but it is a good movie for the entire family which will make everyone feel warm and good.
