Russound MCA-66 6 source 6 multi zone controller amplifier

Decent Amp When It works

It is a decent amp when it works. I especially like the mobile companion app. It is handy. In short 5 years, I have two MCA-66 broken. I am not a heavy user and yet both failed. The first one would power on but wouldn't output any sound after 2 years. The second one would keep recycling after pushing the power button after 3 years. The product quality is poor to say the least. Another friction is the activation. I am not sure why Russound decided to only allow "An Authorized Person" to unlock the device. I don't see a point. There are many similar products in the market. Unless you are like me just looking for a replacement, I would highly recommend to avoid this for new installation.
