Excellent-Small-Dependable Little MP3/Voice Player
3 of 4 found this helpful I have owned this Perception Digital 1.5 GB player for over a year.
I have found it to be a very dependable little player. Quite small and easy to use.
I have children 7-15 and they have NO trouble using it.
The 1.5 GB storage ( 1.3 usable )sounded small to me at first . But I have 50 songs on it at this time and it is only 25% full (361MB used - 987MB free) so I estimate 200 MP3 at Med High quality till full.
I have never had a bit of problem with this Player. It is a bit slow on start up taking around 13 seconds to Start.
Updating you music list is very easy and almost automatic , but can take some time. My 50 songs takes about 45-1 min to update if I add or remove a song. But this is only needed to be done after you have added/removed All the songs you like.
The 1.25 LCD is small but it shows all the pertinent information . It displays Music info and all the pertinent info about the song you are listening to.
Menu options are Play music ,Voice ,Equalizer ,Play mode ,Organize , and settings .
Play music is obvious , it is easy to move from song to song you only need to move the THUM rocker left or right to go forward or back thru your songs . Up and down on the rocker will increase or decrease the volume. The volume gets VERY loud and there is not much music distortion at high volume.
Voice get you in to the Voice recorder . The recorder is VERY nice and I have recorded meetings with the speaker 10 feet away and the recording is clear . with 50 MP3 in storage I still have a recording capacity ( shown on the LCD read out) of over 70 HOURS ! WOW.
Equalizer is nice but not all that useful for me.
It has 5 presets ,Normal,Rock,Jazz,Clasical,POP and has a Tuning fork so you can change edit the settings. There are 5 EQ sliders , 62Kz-250Kz-1Kz-4Kz-16Kz .And they seam to work just fine for tuning your sound.
All the rest of the setting are obvious and work well.
The only complaints that I have with this Little player are as follows.
The Organize mode is wacky. If you set it to shuffle your songs so you can get a random play each time , it only has about 5 different randoms then they start repeating.
The BLUE LCD looks Great but will eat up your battery life ( witch last me around 12 hours of continuous MP3 play ). Recharging is easy you can use the power connector or USB . I use a USB to Car Lighter adapter and charge it as need be in the car. However you can NOT charge and listen to music at the same time !
And lastly Remember that this is a Hard Drive MP3 Player! DO NOT DROP IT ! I have no dropped mine yet . But I have bought 2 Off EBay that have been dropped and BOTH are DEAD ! Hard Drives DONT LIKE BEING DROPED !
Over all this is a GREAT player for any one , New or Experienced who is looking for a small Cheep player that sounds great , has

Lasted 1 year !
Bought 2 and both have died within 1 year. Would not recommend this light unless you only need it for a short time. It is bright and worked well until it did not.
