RME Audio Fireface 800
4 of 4 found this helpful Fortunately, and for three reasons, I didn't have to guess about this unit.
1) I have used an old 8 I/O Nuendo interface for a few years and discovered It was built by RME.
2) I use a 9652 for my Cubase interface
3) We have 3 FF800s at the job I presently do and I have grown to appreciate the quality and versatility.., so I bought one.it's a "No Brainer" these things work really, really well and soumd great. I looked for used as my budget was getting thin this year and it's worth every penny I scraped together, and then some.

Korg MR2000S Digital Multi Track Recorder
2 of 2 found this helpful I am well faminliar with the Korg recorder purchased, being an ownwer of the more portable model, the MR1000. I first saw the MR2000S at an AES convention and right there decided to eventually purchase one. It is everything it's supposed to be and contains a few more features than the portable. The sound of both models is excellent. My only complaint, with the MR2000S, is the way the input level is adjusted, which is through the "menu" and not an easy access "knob". This is important to me since a good deal of the work I do is on location and quick adjustment capabilty is preferable. But I knew that from the beginning and bought it anyway.

Olympus EM10 MkIV. High quality compact. General, or Pro backup use.
As a Olympus user, this model was no surprise, living up to Olympus' typically technically excellent products. The model EM10 MkIV is a slight improvement on the last model (MkIII), which was very good on its own. The improvements might not as useful to most shooters. They are 1. Silent mode available in all shooting modes. 2. 20MP sensor ( not that important to me). 3. Improved AutoFocus function. 4. In general, more versatile to the professional shooter who might use it as a back up.
While Olympus lists the MkIV as entry level OM-D series, it is only so in name only.
