For 50 quid it works
1 of 1 found this helpful I ordered this engine as a direct swap for my daughters dirt bike ... the engine is as expected for the price .. I took the option of a transfer box so i could keep the engine and trans at the same age .... However the transfer box is to long compared to the original one that was fitted to the bike so i ended up having to remove the new transfer box and fit the shorter old one. no cost difference to the just engine option ...But as i removed the transfer box (any warranty now void) one of the Bolts snapped .. not sure but i think this was threaded or weakened at the build up point as with no pressure the bolt sheared in half .. very cheap metal in the bolts you may want to swap these out for better quality ones.
This left me the extra job of extracting the snapped stud ....from my new engine :(
I didn't expect a lot for my 50 quid .. but for the sake of a few quid changing out the bolts would really improve the quality. and give someone less experienced an easier time of fitting.
The pull start is quite hard to do and i am a fully grown man more painful than hard to pull ... and my daughter cant pull it ... think i will have to fit an easy start puller.
So new transfer box .. was not needed and wont fit .... bolts are cheap and brittle ... hard to pull start handle is very sharp edged.
once fitted i had to tune the carb easy job with just one turn to get the tick over sorted.
I would not recommend this product if you are not mechanically minded as you are going to have to mess about with bits and bobs with no fitting instructions. and no instruction on fitting the throttle cable to the carb .. I know what to do .. but others may struggle.
Over all I got what i paid for ..... I have only good words to say about the seller as delivery was prompt and a smooth transaction.
I also knew before i bought this that it was not a £200 engine so for the £50 i think this is a good deal .... even if you have to change engine every couple of years ... it is a cost effective product
