Good, but the mounting system needs some work.
The nuts and bolts supplied with the rod holder are insufficient to keep it from tilting toward the stern of the boat when a fish strikes. Possibly allowing an expensive trolling setup to go overboard. I am now using heavy duty star lock washers on both ends of the bolt between the mount and the mounting location on the downrigger. Should not have to do this. They should be supplied. The tube should also be an inch or two longer.

Well made, perfect for my TLD reels
1 of 1 found this helpful I have installed these clamps on 9 Shimano TLD reels and am very happy with them. Fit, finish and functionality couldn't be better. I modify every TLD I acquire with these mounts and a replacement handle with a round knob that is much easier to use in handling large fish. The one thing you have to remember if you want to install these clamps is that the spool of the reel has to be empty. The bolts securing these mounts and the OEM mounts must be inserted and secured from inside the reel.

The clip's design allows leaders to slip off if not installed carefully
These clips are very easy to use, but they can fail too easily if care is not taken to be certain the clip is used properly. A friend of mine recently lost a large fish when leader's loop the slipped back over the protruding edge of the clip's "easy attachment" point. It was my fault. I had given him the lure but had not cautioned him always to check the clip's alignment and to use a small loop that cannot slip off. I no longer use this kind of clip and have changed to an alternative with a better design that avoids any danger of the loop slipping off.
