Performs as expected
2 of 2 found this helpful I purchased this unit as a temporary fix to avoid the high cost of replacing the Central Air in my home. I'm using it in the Living Room where I have it vented through the fire place (my own modifications with self-supplied materials). Though not whisper quiet, by no means overly loud. It does a great job of keeping the space cool. I haven't had it long enough to see how it'll effect the electric bill, but I'm guessing not much because the "wheel" of the electric meter doesn't seem to change any between running/not running it.
