Mediocre My Fair Lady flower seller
I bought this to put the outfit on an Audrey Hepburn doll. The stiff velour coat is ok, but when I removed it, the shirtwaist dress had no sleeves! Really annoying! It is sewn to the petticoat however, so it stays tucked in at least. The apron and skirt share a waistband and close w/ a snap. Except for the coat and scarf, everything feels like real cotton, so that's a plus and the little straw hat is nice. However, for some reason Mattel gave Eliza black COWBOY BOOTS! Maybe this is before they started making the "lace up" boots. Anyway, it's ludicrous. The doll itself is the basic TNT body, Superstar head mold (with eyelashes), and the hair is nice, soft brown hair done up in a sort of French twist, not giant gobs of bleached blonde plastic hair! c.1995

POPPY PARKER TWIGGY DRESS
This is part of the giftset from Integrity Toys 2016 Convention. The whole set was very expensive on the 2ndary market, and I really only wanted this dress. It's a nice dress, Integrity's usual quality i.e. fully lined, working zipper, and a terrific graphic!
The Essential Book of Fermentation: Great Taste and Good Health with Probiotic F

Great book for people getting interested in probiotics and fermented foods
I've made yogurt and recently made some good kimchi, so I wanted to learn a little more about fermented foods. Part 1 has a lot of good information for the newbie including probiotics, etc. Part 2 is about bread, cheese, and wine; not interested in making any of those things. Part 3 includes recipes and methods: Dairy, Veg., Grain, Bean/Seed, and "Fermented Beverages" which include Ginger soda, Kefin, Kombucha, etc plus alcoholic beverages. The author provides many references and sources with websites, addresses, etc., a brief bibliography, and a really good extensive index. He used to work for Rodale Press / Organic Gardening and moved clear across the country to start a winery in Sonoma Co.! There are NO photos, just line drawings, and his recipe for kimchi may work, but it's not the traditional ingredients, so not sure it would taste the same. Only other drawback IMO is that most of his fermented veg. recipes are for things like sauerkraut, and chowchow, etc. There IS a recipe for Preserved Lemons I want to try, and some recipes for what to do with the fermented vegs. AND a recipe for fermented hot sauce! I'm trying that one next. So this is a good book for beginners interested in fermentation and probiotics, esp. people who bake, want to make cheese etc. There's good science, no woo woo. Well worth the low 2nd hand price I paid! The 3 stars is because there are no photos, and half the book is about things I would never make or eat. You might give it 5 stars!
