Powerful Laptop
1 of 1 found this helpful With the hyper-thread quad core and the 2GB vVRAM Nvidia, there isn't much this laptop can't plow through. The 1080 display is beautiful. If you are doing any kind of graphics or games, this is the perfect tool. If you can find a good condition used one of these, it will be a better deal than any new laptop at the same price. It will outperform most consumer laptops out today (12-2015) and last longer since it's a military spec laptop. If you do get it, make sure you get the i7 2820QM - or any CPU with the Q designation (Quad-Core) and minimum 8GB of RAM. Also make sure to replace the main drive with a SSD drive. There are lesser CPUs with the M designation are found in this and other older laptops like the Dell e6520 or HP 8560p, and those models would be a better overall package since they are lighter yet still have very good business class performance. I would not get the M CPU in this laptop. The 8560W is geared for the workstation class so you do give up some portability for top notch performance - make sure it's the highest spec possible if you buy.

Widely known motherboard issues
0 of 1 found this helpful The built in GPU on this has known issues and stops working. You get a totally black screen on boot, no backlight, nothing. It will not work with external monitor via HDMI since the GPU is toast.
These is now way to to replace or fix the GPU since it's integrated. You'll have to replace the motherboard, $50 minimum for used.

fits amd works
had it for about a month, no issues so far, keep it plugged it most of the time so it's used more like a backup UPS
