Had one when it was new. It's great having the toy again.
I wanted to try the only model I knew of that would work point to point without needing the mfgr's server and had installation software. I have this running on Win10 though it reports an error. I couldn't get it to run on Win7 and I will probably setup WinXP as a virtual machine in Linux for production.
I haven't tried through the firewall to the Net but there is no reason it shouldn't work. Nor have I tried the ir remotely.
However, my guess is that there could be security flaws over the Internet since the product is no longer supported.

Yep. It's good but it probably won't work the way you want it to. If you owned one in the past it will be a great novelty on your shelf!
It is exactly what I expected bought for nostalgia purpose knowing fully that it would probably not work in later versions of windows. Unless you are running it not connected to the internet and on your own private network (rare indeed?) I haven't read anything that says it would be safe, even in a virtual machine, Not bc of the product but bc of security in outdated windows.
That said, within a private network, not Inet connected, you could use it as a baby, pet, etc monitor by setting it to auto answer calling from another one or another h.323 endpoint or software. Also, you're not likely to find a cell phone app that supports the connection protocol.
